Abstract

440,448. Chromated-colloid processes. BIZOT, M. G. M. G., 6, Chemin de la Croix, Champigny-sur-Marne, France. Sept. 19, 1934, No. 26973. Convention date, Sept. 19, 1933. [Class 98 (ii)] Unpigmented gelatin is sensitized, before or after application to a support, with a bath containing chromic acid and also, if desired, bichromate or other soluble chromium salt. After exposure to light, the gelatin is treated with a pigment or dye-bath which colours it in a inverse proportion to the exposure. A tanning agent such as alum or formaldehyde may be added to the sensitizing bath, or may be applied to the gelatin before sensitizing. Examples are given in the Specification of sensitizing baths, and of dye-baths containing aniline black or nigrosine with or without sodium sulphite, bisulphite, or carbonate. Reference is made to the sensitizing of pigmented gelatin with chromic acid.
