Abstract

440,356. Optical-projection apparatus. GROVES, W. W., 30, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London.-(I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges. ; Frankfort-on-Main, Germany) June 27, 1934, No. 18992. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 29, 1934.] [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (ii)] In the projection of lenticular films by means of a lamp comprising a positive carbon in the optical axis, the carbon holder is shaped so that the light rays which pass to it pass also either through a line transverse to the strips of the colour filter, or through one or more lines of junction of such strips, or would so pass if permitted by the holder. Fig. 2 shows a colour filter F in which these rays pass through the junction lines of the strips r, g, b ; the holder is between the light source and the filter, so that its shadow falls on the junction lines. Fig. 4 shows a construction in which the filter frame 12 is formed with a recess G extending across the colour strips to accommodate the holder H; the recess permits the holder to pass through the filter. Fig. 5 shows a construction in which the frame has an arm T at the junction of two strips, and a recess E for the holder H at the junction of the other two strips ; arms C D extend from the arm T to form the border of an aperture in the filter. The holder carries the carbon N on the middle longitudinal line of the middle strip. The lamp may be a mirror arc or condenser arc.
