439,542. Saliva ejectors. GRUNEWALD, H., 8, Rue ThÚrÞse, Paris. May 9, 1935, No. 13720. Convention date, July 26, 1934. [Class 81 (ii)] In a dental apparatus comprising a number of suction ducts all connected to a common suction tube, the conduits are provided at their ends with saliva catching members covering the ends of the salivary ducts. The member b for covering the ducts underneath the tongue is connected to a main suction tube a, and two members f, adapted to cover the ducts above the jaws, are connected by tubes d, d<1> through an air-tight ball-and-socket joint c to the main conduit. The members b, fare formed as metal casings with rubber linings adapted to cover the ducts, and the rubber is extended through the metal to form studs b <1>, b<11>, f<1> adapted to hold the rubber in the metal member and in the case of the members f, to hold the cheek apart from the teeth. The members f may be replaced by pivoted stoppers e when not required. The apparatus is held in position by a chin rest g carried on pins j, j <1> slidable in holes in plate h secured to the tube a and carrying a nipple i for the attachment of a tube leading to a pump or water-operated suction apparatus.
