438,570. Cooking-vessels. WILCOX, H., 1176, Ossington Avenue, Toronto, Canada. April 23, 1935, No. 12172. [Class 66] [See also Group XI] A cooking-utensil 11 comprises an outer shell and a closely fitting lining of a different coefficient of thermal expansion and an indentation 14 is formed in its bottom. When the temperature of the bottom of the utensil becomes excessive the different thermal expansions of the two shells cause the indentations to spring apart and leave a heat insulating air space. In an alternative construction internesting annular grooves are formed in the bottom of the shells which spring apart and leave an air space in a similar manner to the previous construction. A heat storing and distributing plate may fit between the two shells at the bottom.
