438,371. Stay bolts for boilers. HAFFNER, G. D. J., 3, Rue Cernuschi, Paris. May 15, 1934, No. 14684. Convention date, May 20, 1933. [Class 123 (ii)] A two-metal stay bolt comprising a cylindrical core a of strong metal such as steel and a sleeve b of more ductile and non- rusting material such as copper, is constructed with recesses or bosses on the surface of the core which effect a longitudinal connection of the core and the sleeve due to the metal of the sleeve filling or entering the spaces on the core when it is being put into position, the sleeve extending the whole length to form part of the heads. In one construction, the surface of the core a is provided with a helical groove c. In an alternative form a series of spherical recesses d is formed along two opposite generatrices.
