Abstract

438,100. Making paper &c. bags. ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES C. & A. HOLWEG, 42, Rue Jacques KablÚ, Strasbourg, France. Feb. 5, 1934, No. 3699. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 23, 1934]. [Class 94 (ii)] A method of forming flat bags of paper &c. is characterized in that two synchronously running webs 3, 4 of different widths are assembled after the preliminary longitudinal gumming of the projecting edges of the wider web at 7 and the transverse gumming of one of the webs at bag length intervals, whereupon the gummed edges of the wider web are folded over at 8 on to the narrower web, the tube being cut into lengths at 10, in front of the transverse gum streaks, and the bottom gummed again and folded over by the device 11. In a modification, the longitudinal edges of the wider web may be folded over first and the narrower web then applied thereto.
