438,071. Invalids' beds. DENIS, E. R., 47a, Rue du Coq, Marseilles, France. July 17, 1934, No. 20913. [Class 52 (ii)] The side frames of a bed for invalids comprise horizontal base portions and upright portions 2, Fig. 1, forming the end posts, the foot posts being joined to the base portions by curved parts of such radius as to enable the bed to be rocked thereon to any desired inclination. An adjustable support 16 holds the bed in inclined position. An upper bed comprising a frame 8, 9 with transverse straps 10 of fabric covered metal is removably fitted to the posts 2, 2, and a frame 3 supporting a mattress 7 is suspended from the main frame by cables 4 passing over pulleys 5 and wound on a drum 6. Wheels 19, 20, Fig. 2, which can be lowered to lift the frame from the floor, may be provided. In use, the patient lies on the straps 10 which are in contact with the mattress 7, and the frame 3 lowered for bandaging, dressing, or other treatment.
