Abstract

436,063. Paving-blocks. BRITANNIA IRON & STEEL WORKS, Ltd., Kempston Road, and ZEHNDER, C., 1, High Street, both in Bedford. April 1, 1935, No. 10099. [Class 87 (i)] A concrete paving- block 1 has embedded in its upper surface a flanged iron frame 2 having one or more T-shaped crosswebs 3 provided with depending anchors 4 having projecting lugs 5<1> at their lower ends. In the form shown one cross-web 3 is provided. In another form, three parallel cross-webs are provided, the central one being without an anchor. In a further form, two cross-webs intersecting at right angles are provided, each with two anchors. The upper part 7 of the block may contain white or coloured material for use as a traffic mark such as heavy spar, lithopone, and pumice stone which may be bound with cellulose esters especially collodion.
