Abstract
435,504. Litters; litter carriages. MONK, B., 2, Beechmond Road, Sanderstead, Surrey, and RICKWOOD, H. J., Ellenden, Hawkhurst, Kent. Sept. 10, 1934, No. 26004. [Class 108 (i)] In stretchers and supports therefor of the kind wherein the stretcher is mounted to reciprocate the framework comprises a base, two supports pivoted at their lower ends to the base and at their upper ends to connecting means which carries, or serves as, a stretcher, the connecting means being given a reciprocatory and a tilting movement when the supports are oscillated. The base 10 comprising longitudinals 12, 13 has pivoted thereto two pairs of arms 18, 19, 22, 23 which cross one another as shown and are pivoted at their upper ends to connecting means 27 comprising parallel tie rods 27, 28. These tie rods are provided at their ends with clips 32 adapted to secure the longitudinals of a stretcher 36. The pair of arms 22, 23 are offset inwardly to the pair of arms 18, 19 and are cross-braced at 25. The swinging movement in the longitudinal direction is illustrated by means of the dotted lines in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which the base 10 is provided with wheels 66 which may be used to raise the frame by levers 69 and transport it. A motor 38 is provided to impart a rocking motion to the stretcher by means of crank 40, link 42, arm 44 and adjustable link 48. A rod 50 with hooked end 51 is provided to lock the stretcher support when desired.
