Abstract

435,068. Receptacles for growing plants. GAHM, O. E., 31, Bridge Road, Worthing, Sussex. Aug. 2, 1934, No. 22538. [Class 6 (ii)] [See also Group XVII] A container for holding mushroom spawn during and after growth comprises a glass body 1, the walls of which taper from the mouth to the base at an angle of one to five degrees to the vertical. The mouth is screw threaded to receive a metal cap 2 which has an opening surrounded by a neck 6 to receive a cotton wool plug 7. A packing washer 4 is provided between the cap and the body. In use the container is filled with sterilized horse manure &c. containing the mycelium and is kept at a constant temperature for growing. The spawn can be easily removed by removing the cap.
