Abstract
434,164. Miners' &c. safety lamps. HAILWOOD, E. A., Beacon House, Texas Street, Morley, near Leeds. Dec. 27, 1933, Nos. 32645/34 (divided out of 419,594) and 36897/34. [Class 75 (iv)] In a miner's or like safety lamp in which the lower portion of the lamp is fitted with a guarded air-inlet band which includes separable inner and outer gauzes B, C, the inner gauze ring C<2>, C<3> connects the oil vessel V to the upper part A of the lamp and supports the outer gauze ring B<2>, B<3>, whilst the latter supports an outer guard ring D, so that, in the absence of either gauze, this will be indicated or the correct assembly of the lamp will be prevented. In the form shown, the guard ring D rests on an outstanding flange B<1> on the lower part B<3> of the outer gauze ring, whilst the latter rests on a ledge C<1> on the lower part C<3> of the inner gauze ring.
