432,636. Fat - liquoring leather. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Millbank, London, GREENHALGH, R., and WHITE, G. S. J., Hexagon House, Blackley, Manchester. Jan. 22, 1934, No. 2243. [Class 76] Compositions for fat-liquoring and oiling-off leather are prepared by mixing fish or other marine animal oils and mineral and other oil with an unsaturated fatty acid and adding ammonia. The mixture is applied to leather, with or without water, to form an emulsion. Unsaturated acids suitable for the process are such as are obtainable by the saponification of oils, fats and waxes or the acid hydrolysis of sulphonated oils.
