[Class 103 (i)] In order to support a brake operating-cylinder upon the truck frame of a railway or tramway vehicle so as to avoid the imposition thereon of torsional stresses, the cylinder c is mounted upon one end of a bracket b, which extends across a transverse member a of the truck frame and may be cast integral with the same, the opposite end of the bracket having a brake lever attached thereto. As shown the brake-shoes g at one end of the truck are actuated by the piston rod e through pivoted levers d and links f, while the other shoes l are actuated by means of intermediate links i suspended from the cylinder c by links m, levers j, and links k.
