[Classes 18 and 94 (i)] [See also Group XVIII] A packet for containing and displaying samples consists of a cardboard or stout paper base 1, and a cover 2 of similar shape and material, a portion being cut out at 3 and a figure or design being painted or printed thereon or otherwise applied thereto, so that samples, placed between the parts 1, 2 can be seen through the cut-out 3 and form part of the design. The package is completed by a sheet 7 of transparent paper &c. covering the part 2 and secured to the back of the part 1. A sheet 6 of paper &c. of contrasting colour may be placed under the uppermost article e.g. a doyley. A sample doyley may also be secured beneath the base 1, which is then preferably of contrasting colour, and the transparent sheet 7 may envelop the whole packet. In an alternative, a sheet arranged beneath the uppermost doyley is secured by adhesive at its edges to the cover 2. In another alternative the cover 2 consists of two sheets. the upper of which is cut out to frame the whole figure which is represented (with appropriate cut-outs) on the lower sheet, this sheet being secured to the upper sheet around the edges of the cut-out. The design may be continued on the upper sheet. In a further alternative the cover sheet 2 is omitted, the transparent sheet 7 forming the cover, the figure, with an incomplete portion, being represented on it. The packages described may be placed on boxes to constitute their lids ; the whole box may then be enclosed in transparent material. In an alternative the base 1 is adhesively secured by the edge of the sheet 7 to the top of the flanged lid of a box. The articles displayed may be lace paper doyleys, serviettes or dish mats, real lace doyleys or handkerchiefs, lace edging, silk stockings, ribbons or decorative materials of any kind. The design may be a human figure, a parasol, hat, fan, curtain, tablecloth, &c.
