[Class 52 (ii)] Thin layers of wood are bent into curved forms, and in these forms are glued together and utilized to make articles of furniture the shapes being such that the loads tend to reduce the normal radii of curvature of the spring parts 4, 14, &c. Fig. 3 shows a chair which comprises a U-shaped frame 2 and a seat portion 3 ; each part 2, 3 consists of thin layers or laths 1, Fig. 1, glued together while bent, and reinforced at 15. In a modification, each side frame 2 has a closed form, and the upper end of the seat portion 3 is attached to the frame by means of a curve like the part 14.
