430,484. Projectile magazines for centrifugal guns. POWELL, B. F. S. BADEN-, Brooklands House, Riverhead, Sevenoaks, Kent. Nov. 2, 1934, No. 7022/35. Divided out of 428,194. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to projectile magazines for use with centrifugal guns and of the rotary-drum type in which the projectiles are carried in a series of radial drum compartments a<1>, each containing a spring ejector a<2>, a cover d for the base of the magazine being provided with an outlet hole d<1> shaped to correspond with the projectile. According to the invention, instead of providing this hole with a slide or cut-off to retain the projectiles when the magazine is off the gun, the cover-plate can be turned with respect to the drum a to bring the hole out of register with the compartments. For attaching the magazine to the gun so that the hole d<1> registers with the gun feed opening b<1>, the cover-plate is provided with a central non-circular recess which fits over a corresponding projection b3 on a plate attached to the gun. The feed opening b<1> is provided with a cut-off b<2>.
