429,857. Cushions. KINDERMANN, (nÚe HUESMANN), G., Rõdlitz, Post Steinau, Germany. April 3, 1934, Nos. 10103 and 10104. Convention dates, April 1, 1933 and Aug. 4, 1933. [Class 52 (iv)] [See also Groups XXXVI and VIII] A cushion or the like is heated electrically by means of a resistance wire 1 wound on an asbestos core and insulated with asbestos, the wire being arranged on or in a fireproof - impregnated fabric 2 enclosed by a flannel bag 3 and an outer linen bag 4. The fabric 2 consists of two folded parts 5, 6, the wire being held in place by thin impregnated muslin 6<1> quilted at 7. A temperature regulator 10, and the connection between the wire 1 and cable 12 are covered by flaps of impregnated fabric. In a modification, Fig. 3, the wire carrier 16 may be of combustible material enclosed in an impregnated bag 15. The fireproofing substance may be waterglass, molasses with calcium or ammonium borate and a small addition of acid or sodium molybdate, or the like, or a composition containing ammonium sulphate, sal-ammonia, boric acid and borax, with preferably a small quantity of a condensation product of urea and formaldehyde.
