Abstract
429,587. Hopper feeding-machines. SOC. COISNE & LAMBERT, and ASSCHE, A. VAN, Nord, France. Aug. 30, 1933, No. 24079. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, March 1, 1934]. [Class 120 (i)] A feeding-machine for cotton &c. fibres which can be combined with an opener or scutcher comprises a feed apron 7 on which opened cotton &c. is placed and two compartments 1, 2 provided with lifting aprons 6, 20 and rollers 10, 11 to remove any surplus fibre from the tops of the delivery shoots 8, 9 and return it below the aprons. The amount of cotton &c. in the compartment 1 is maintained between a given maximum and minimum amount by a pivoted sheet 3 which controls the operation of the feed apron 7. The amount of cotton &c. in the compartment 2 is maintained at a constant amount. Any increase tends to check the descent of more cotton &c. down the shoot 8, the surplus being removed by the roller 10. A V-shaped sheet 17 which may be hinged at its upper points separates the compartment 2 and shoot 8. The aprons 6, 20 are driven at a constant speed from the combined scutcher through a shaft 23.
