429,322. Cartons for delivering powdered materials. JONES, F. G., 8, Clifton Vale, Clifton, Bristol. Nov. 24, 1934, No. 23285. [Class 18] A carton &c. for powdered material has a delivery aperture 4, Fig. 1, in its side near its upper edge which is normally covered by the flange 3 of a rotatable lid which has a similar aperture 7, the contents being delivered when the two apertures register. The rotary motion is limited by a tongue 8, Fig. 5, on the lid flange engaging in a slot 9 in the rim of the body, or by a projection 12, Fig. 7, on the lid flange engaging a depression 13 on the rim of the body, a channel 16 permitting insertion of the projection into the depression. The latter limiting means may be duplicated at the ends of a diameter. The area of the outlet may be controlled by suitably positioning the cover. The container may be of tin plate or, if of cardboard, has a tinplate lid, the upper edge of the body being reinforced with a tinplate band. Specification 133/86, [Class 18], is referred to.
