Abstract

An organic nitrogen base such as acetanilide may be added to prevent the ketone from crystallizing from the drying lacquer. Instead of acetanilide, nitro- or amino-acetanilide, phenylene diamine, urea, diphenyl diethyl urea, diphenylamine, guanidine, or diphenyl guanidine may be used. Other additions specified are p - toluene sulphonamide, dibutyl phthalate, triphenyl phosphate, tricresyl phosphate, butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, toluene dammar resin, ester gum, blown rapeseed oil, paraffin, paraffin wax, ozokerite, and spermaceti.
