Abstract
428,916. Corrugating. BLACK, G. E., 709, Broad Street, Sewickley, and ROBERTSON CO., H. H., Grant Building, 3rd Avenue, Pittsburg, both in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Nov. 9, 1934, No. 32255. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] [See also Group X] Sheets such as are used for roofs and sides of buildings, having substantially straight sided, V-shaped, corrugations, have the side (jointing) corrugations 13, 14 of shallower form with narrower edge-walls 20, 21, one or both of which is, or are, inclined to the general plane of the sheet at a less angle than the side walls of the intermediate corrugations 12. As shown in Fig. 7, this formation of the edge-walls ensures a weather-tight joint when the sheets are bolted &c. in position. The sheets may be produced by first passing a flat plate through a corrugating machine having teeth to produce uniform corrugations (Fig. 6), and then feeding through a second machine having rolls which fit the intermediate corrugations, and end rolls to produce the edge corrugations 13, 14 of different angularity (Fig. 7).
