Abstract

In making compound glass having a cellulose acetate or nitrate interlayer an adhesive composition containing cellulose acetate, triacetin, and ethyl or butyl orthosilicate is used, either heated or in acetone solution.ALSO:An adhesive composition containing an organic ester of silicic acid is used in uniting sheets of glass and cellulose derivative in making compound glass. Methyl, ethyl, butyl, and benzyl orthosilicates are specified. The adhesive composition may contain c<\>aellulose acetate, triacetin, and ethyl or butyl orthosilicate and may be applied hot or in acetone solution to the glass plates.
