Abstract

427,417. Pads. BOYD, H., 8, Parr Street, Liverpool. Oct. 24, 1933, No. 29378. [Class 19] A dip-stick wiper applicable for dip-sticks used in connection with oil or liquid fuel tanks of motor vehicles, comprises an L-shaped sheet metal member 1 with an aperture 2 for attachment e.g. to the engine block. The part 4 is bent at 5, 6 to provide channels for the reception of felt or other absorbent 7. The edges of the felt piece are cut away at 8, and an opening 9 is formed in the part 4 to direct the dip-stick between the wiping edges of the felt. According to the Provisional Specification, the felt is clamped between the bracket and a separate U-shaped metal plate secured by screw bolts to the bracket.
