426,594. Flexible tubes. LOEWEN. STEIN, F., 8, Krugerstrasse, and LIEBERMANN, J., 6, Herrengasse, both in Vienna, Aug. 17, 1934, No. 23773. [Class 99 (ii)] A flexible tube &c., made by rolling sheets or winding strips of cellulose or other fibrous material 2 about a helical reinforcing wire 1 located on a mandril, is provided with a continuous braided, woven, &c. sheath 3. The said sheath is produced on a textile machine from fibrous material or fine wire, and it serves to press the raised portions of the tube wall against the wire 1, which supports these raised portions from within, so that the wall is gripped along a helical line between the sheath and wire, thus preventing unwrapping of the tube wall. The tube may also be reinforced by a tensionless or elastic thread 4 located in the outer groove of the tube wall, and the fibrous material 2 and the sheath 3 may be impregnated with oil, paraffin, or glycerine.
