425,862. Spray-producers. MAILLIET, P., 13, Rue de la Marne, Le Perreux, France. June 28, 1934, No. 19151. Convention date, May 26. [Class 69 (iii)] Atomizing apparatus controlled by one hand only and provided with means for spray. ing separately or simultaneously one or more colours or other materials is also provided with means to vary at will the degree of atomization and regulate the output of compressed air and material discharged, the tubes of the apparatus being straight and accessible to permit easy cleaning. The apparatus comprises a number of vented liquid containers 3 ... 6, Figs. 2 and 8, which in the form shown are contained in a casing 1. The containers communicate through dip tubes 22 .. 24, with a number of independent passages 15 ... 19, Figs. 8 and 9, in the cover plate 13, each of which is connected through a sliding valve 27, Fig. 5, to a psasage communicating with a space in front of the air nozzle 29. These valves are controlled by levers 36 hinged at 37 in a block 38 and operated by finger keys 39 the amount of movement of which is regulated by nuts 42. Air is supplied through a tube 67 leading to a passage 101 and is regulated by a valve 68 controlled by a thumb-operated lever 69 the outer and inward movement of which is limited by a nut 75 screwed on the air-supply pipe and a regulable stop 70 respectively. Air is led from the tube 10<1> through ports 50 to the central tube 48 of the atomizer the degree of atomization being regulated by a nut 66 by which the central tube is moved relatively to the nozzle. All the tubes are straight to permit of easy cleaning. In place of receptacles being mounted within the casing 1 they may be suspended from a belt worn by the operator and connected by pipes to the passages 15.. 19. The apparatus is retained on the operators hand by a strap 74, Fig. 1 and 21, and provided with an adjustable guard plate 72.
