425,238. Inserted-tooth saws. SPEAR & JACKSON, Ltd., Aetna Works, Savile Street, Sheffield, COOMBE, L. J., Peak House, Calver, Derbyshire, and GORDON, F. F., 461, Whirlowdale Road, Sheffield. Sept. 22, 1933, No. 26191. [Class 145 (ii)] [See also Group XXII] Tooth blanks b, Fig. 1, are secured in gaps c in the saw body a; the teeth are ground in situ to the required shape, and the body is ground away to provide the necessary clearance for the cuttings, as in Fig. 3. The blanks may be of bright drawn steel, or may be forgings, pressings or stampings ; they may be round, elliptical &c. in section, the walls of the gaps having corresponding shapes. The blanks may be secured by welding, brazing, soldering or by pins d. Wedges may be driven into gaps between the teeth-receiving gaps. The teeth may be secured by plugs g, Fig. 8, screwed into recesses behind the teeth ; the teeth and the gap walls may be screw-threaded. The teeth may be inclined to the radii.
