[Class 112] Hand apparatus for tying weavers' knots of the general type described in Specifications 203,368 and 296,272, [both in Class 112], have the pair of threads arranged substantially parallel and means independent of the tying bill for crossing the threads at a single point ready for engagement by the bill for knotting. Before the knotting bill is operated, the threads are crossed as shown in Fig. 9 by the successive operation of two members on the first movement of the trigger. A member 25 pivoted on the plate 2 is operated by the first movement of the trigger by a link 28. The shoulder 27 moves one thread under the other, which is moved over the first thread by the notch 31. Further movement of the trigger causes a link 32 pivoted to a rocker 34 pivoted in turn to the plate 1 to move in the opposite direction of the member 25 to cause a lip 36, notch 37 and shoulder 38 to complete the crossing of the threads as shown in Fig. 9. Further movement of the trigger causes the bill, which is of known form, to rotate and form the knot. The bill has jaws 39, 40, the jaw 40 being actuated during turning by a cam portion 42 to cause it to open and close at the correct times. The bill is rotated on a shaft 45. The shaft carries a pinion 46 turned by a toothed sector 63 on the trigger 4, Fig. 2. When the trigger 4 is moved, pins 57 and 61 move in notches to cause successive operation of the crossing means before operation of the bill.
