422,754. Ferrules &c. for furniture. DUNCAN, T. P., 311, 64th Street, Newport News, Virginia, U.S.A. April 4, 1934, No. 10188. Convention date, April 25, 1933. [Class 134] A furniture slide or castor comprises a circular core plate 1 having strands 6 of fibrous material wrapped thereon to provide a fibrous facing for contact with the floor. The plate 1 may have a central attaching tang struck out therefrom and may be formed with bent radial fingers 4 providing notches 5 wherein the strands 6 are engaged. The strands may be arranged chordally of the circular plate so as to provide a central pocket 7 for receiving grit. The strands may be treated with wax or like material. A detachable protecting cap may be provided to cover the fibres when not in use or for use on rough surfaces. The cap may have a peripheral flange adapted to snap over the slide and the flange may have inward protuberances for engaging the notches.
