Abstract
422,201. Oven linings ; joints. MAIN, Ltd., R. & A., 48, Grosvenor Gardens, Buckingham Palace Road, and TAYLOR, R., 24, Bolten Road, Upper Edmonton, both in London. July 6, 1933, No. 19221. [Class 126] The walls of a cooking- oven are constructed separately from sheet metal and are secured together by forming along the edge of one wall 12 tongues 13 which are arranged to extend through slots 11 formed along and at a distance away from the edge of an adjacent wall 9, the tongues 13 being so disposed and so formed with double bends 14 that, when inserted through the slots, the thickness of the slotted wall is accommodated in the bend and the tongues lie flush with the slotted wall over a substantial bearing area. The slots 11 are formed in a flange 10 on the wall 9. The forward edges of the side walls are flanged outwardly to be clamped to the oven door frame. The flanges and co-operating tongues are so bent that the side walls diverge forwardly, so as to form a spring fit in the outer casing.
