Abstract

421,960. Synchronous movements. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Aug. 13, 1934, Nos. 23365 and 23366. Convention dates, Aug. 11, 1933 and March 16, 1934. [Class 40 (iii)] A rotating recording member 3, associated with a magnetic system 7, 8 in a receiver for signals corresponding to letters analyzed into scanning-lines, scans at least one limiting surface 5 of a normal recording base 1, and, on encroachment of the recorded letters on the limiting surface, the phase of the receiver is adjusted to restore synchronism. A cam 12 on the shaft of the recording-member closes a switch 11, when the end of a recording ridge 4 co-operates with a ridge on the armature 8. If a signal is received at this time, the armature closes a switch 10 to complete the circuit of a relay 13 which steps a differential gear 14 on the driving-shaft. According to modifications : the switches insert a resistance in the circuit of the driving-motor, Fig. 3 (not shown) ; the cam removes the grid bias from a valve which can then respond to a received signal to actuate a relay which controls a centrifugal governor, Fig. 4 (not shown).
