Abstract

421,706. Anti - side - tone circuits. LOWE, J. P., 7, Montpelier, Edinburgh. Oct. 2, 1933, No. 10029/34. Divided out of 408,264. [Class 40 (iv)] An anti-side-tone circuit comprises two transformers one of which has a line winding, the transmitter and receiver being connected in two local circuits, each of which includes a winding on each of the transformers. As shown in Fig. 4, currents produced in the transmitter circuit B, C, T, CT induce currents in winding A which are sent to line but induce opposing currents in the receiver circuit R, D, E, the degree of balance being adjustable by means of a tapped network r. Modifications of this system are shown in which the receiver is in parallel instead of in series with the coils D, E, in which the transmitter is fed from a local battery and in which the system is applied to an operator's set. In a further modification, Fig. 6, the degree of side tone reduction is adjusted by means of tapping points on winding E.
