Abstract

421,621. Vehicle wheels. MILLER, G. J., Court Lodge Farm, Chelsfield, Kent. Aug. 4, 1933, No. 22001. [Class 144 (i)] A tractor or like wheel is secured to the hub by means permitting axial adjustment to vary the tracking-width of the wheels. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, the wheel body 4 is secured to the flanged hub 3 by a series of bars 5 bolted to bracelets 8, 11 on the hub and wheel body respectively. The bars are provided with a series of bolt-holes 6, (or slots) to permit the axial adjustment and, as shown in Fig. 3, the parts 3, 4 may be fitted in vertical alignment. In modifications (not shown), the bars 5 may be replaced by long threaded bolts to be used with back-nuts or distance-sleeves; or the parts 3, 4 may be adapted to telescope and be secured in adjusted positions by set-screws or bolts co-operating with spaced holes or slots in one or both of the parts ; or the part 4 may be threaded to screw on to an axial extension of the part 3.
