[Class 9 (ii)] In a submarine, explosive mines mare carried in cages in a drum composed of two circular rings C braced by longitudinal members T, the rings being mounted on rollers R located between inner and outer walls F<i>, F<e>, of the hull. The mines in their cages are passed through an aperture A closed by a watertight cover, and are successively laid through an aperture P by rotation of the drum by a motor driven pinion r gearing with teeth on one of the rings of the drum, each mine being released when positioned above the aperture P, by means of a pawl mechanism S.
