[Class 140] A floor covering comprises a backing of pasteboard, strawboard or cardboard, which may be reinforced with a fabric such as sacking, provided with closely adjacent holes or grooves and coated with boiled linseed oil, which may contain rubber, pigment and vegetable meal. Preferably the holes are conical with their large diameters facing the coating. The backing may be impregnated with boiled linseed oil, dried, and a fatty oil colour applied before the final coating.
