Drawings to Specification. [Class 118 (ii)] The components of the circuit for feeding an underwater or air sound emitter are so dimensioned that the frequency W feeding the oscillatory structure, which is tuned to this frequency W, the inductance L of the emitter and the capacity C of a condenser in shunt with the emitter fulfil the condition W<2>LC = 1. The inductance L and the capacity C are tuned to resonance and a further condenser tuned into resonance with the generator inductivity may be connected in series with the tuned emitter and capacity. The self inductance of the generator may be small compared with that of the emitter, the capacity of the condenser being chosen so that equal currents pass through the condenser and the emitter, the generator then supplying the purely effective current. The generator may be of like phase with the voltage or may be fed with leading current.
