419,767. Motor driving arrangements. DORER, P. O., 219, Dollis Hill Lane, LANDSTAD, H. F., 36, Chartley Avenue, and SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES), Ltd., S., Cricklewood Works, all in Cricklewood. July 26, 1933, No. 21075. [Class 35.] A synchronous motor with self-starting means has a bearing member in permanent frictional engagement with a part driven by the rotor and movable thereby in two directions, according to the direction of rotation, for moving a stop into or out of engagement with the rotor or a part driven thereby. In the form shown, the motor starts by means of the soft iron member 15 and frictionally drags with it the end of the angularly movable lever 18 which is pivoted at 17 and is urged against the cam 20 on the rotor shaft by the spring 24. If the rotation is anticlockwise, the motion is unhindered, but otherwise the projection on the end of the arm 18 is moved into the path of the cam projection 27.
