Abstract

419,635. Ventilators. JACKSON, A. A., 40, Newbolt Avenue, Cheam, Surrey. Jan. 24, 1934, No. 2454. [Class 137.] A ventilator or air extractor comprises a shallow box 1 divided by webs 4, 5 into front and rear compartments 8 and 9, into which are fitted air inlet and outlet tubes 10, 11. Jet tubes 6 screwed into the web 4 coact with extractor tubes 7 screwed into the web 5 to draw air from the box 1, and through the perforated or gauze covered base 3 from the enclosure to be ventilated. When applied to a motor vehicle, an extractor 1 is placed at each side of the roof and is connected by a pipe 15 with an air inlet 16, and with an outlet 17, the air being forced through the extractor by motion of the vehicle. Air may be forced through the tubes 15 by a blower operated by the engine.
