Abstract

419,239. Machines for filling pots. MARGUERAT, R., 7, Rue Carves, Montrouge, Seine, France. Dec. 5, 1933, No. 34157. [Class 125 (ii).] A machine for filling pots &c. comprises three magazines 8 from which empty pots are fed to a conveyer 2, three charging pistons 26 which deliver a given quantity of cream &c. through nozzles 37 ; corresponding distributer cylinders 42 for supplying caps to the pots &c. which are of larger diameter than the mouths of the pots, and magazines 53 for supplying discs over the caps which fit the container mouths. The pots are released from the magazines 8 one at a time by slides 9 and levers 17, the remainder being held by slides 16. Cream is delivered from a reservoir 24 to discharge cylinders 25 having adjustable pistons 26 for delivering the requisite quantities. Valves 38 close at the end of the strokes of the pistons, creating a vacuum in the cylinder on the return strokes and consequental filling by suction. Sheets of sulphurized paper 41 are transferred by suction pads 48 to the container-mouths, and cardboard discs 54 are pressed therein by pads 64. The discs 54 are fed to the suction pads 64 by slides 55. Suitable centring means are provided for the ports, and each plate 1 in the conveyer 2 is recessed to receive them.
