Abstract

418,759. Television. BAIRD, J. L., and BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., 58, Victoria Street, London. June 2, 1933, No. 16097. [Class 40 (iii).] Scanning is accomplished by a combination of three or more mirror polyhedrons 4, 6, 7, 8 or lensed discs or drums. The polyhedron 4 rotates at a speed which is an integral multiple of that of the others. The polyhedrons 6, 7, 8 are so combined and angulated that as the scanning spot is moved from one to the next the spot on a screen 3 moves from the end of one scanning-line to the beginning of the next. When the slowly moving members comprise sets of lenses in a circle, certain of the sets have their optical centres outside their apertures to provide the change from one scanning-line to the next as described above. Alternatively the sets of lenses are provided with deflecting-prisms.
