Abstract

418,225. Electric signalling and remote control systems. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and MOSS, B. F., c/o General Electric Co., Stoke, Coventry. April 21, 1933, No. 11673. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (i).] In a system in which descriptions and destinations of trains are transmitted from one station to another to control indicating devices, if various parts of a train have different destinations all the destinations are transmitted, the destinations being shown sequentially as the various parts of the train are removed. As described a train consists of three light engines and the destinations of the engines are transmitted by impulses and are stored on switches of the step-by-step type, a further impulse indicating that the train consists of light engines. The indicator shows the first destination received and that three light engines are coming. When the first engine is removed from the train a pulse, received over a special wire, alters the destination indications from the first to the second and alters the description from three to two light engines. When the second engine leaves the train a second pulse is received which alters the destination indication from the second to the third and cancels the " two " indication. The indications are removed and the apparatus homed by the operation of a key or by the receipt of a pulse over a further wire. Descriptions of a second train may be received and stored on a second register device, the descriptions being shown as those for first and second trains. When the description of the first train has been removed the description of the second train moves up to the first train description panels. Should a train have two destination descriptions only the third destination switch is used to record the train description.
