417,126. Agglomerating fuel. BRITISH COAL PRODUCTS CO. (1928), Ltd., 39, Grosvenor Place, London, and WALLACE, G. W., 1605, N. 46th Street, E. St. Louis, Illinois, U.S.A. March 24, 1933, No. 8989. [Class 50.] Carbonaceous materials such as anthracite duff or coke with or without bituminous slack are mixed with up to 5 per cent of fibrous materials such as peat, cellulose fibres or fabrics, seed husks or waste residues from the manufacture of starch and a binder is added such that smoke is not produced during burning. This may comprise sulphite cellulose liquors or molasses with or without adhesives such as casein or casein-containing milling substances such as milled or crushed seeds, e.g. cereals or soya beans or flour or meal. Hardenable artificial resins may also be included. The ingredients are mixed with water and the mass is extruded into lengths e.g. semi-circular in section which are cut and dried at about 100‹ C. and then gradually heated to about 245‹ C. to consolidate the binding and harden the masses.
