[Class 56.] Relates to the method of tempering glassware in which the glass is heated and is then chilled by immersion in a bath of liquid. According to the invention, the liquid is vigorously agitated during and after the immersion of the ware in order to obtain more uniform chilling. The liquid may be agitated by means of mechanical stirring devices or by air jets.
