Abstract

416,486. Holders for reels of string &c. HEYWARD, N. G., 18, Downs Park East, Bristol. Feb. 28, 1934, No. 6009 /33. [Class 18.] In a case to hold a reel of string, &c., the reel (not shown) is pivoted upon and removable with the cover 2, Fig. 2, of the case, the cover being held in position by a split stud 3 which engages in a rigid sleeve 13 on the back of the case. The reel is of cardboard, metal, &c. and rotates on a sleeve 12 concentric with the stud 3, and the latter passes through a collar 4 on the outside of the cover and is provided with a milled head. The free end of the string passes through an aperture in the side of the case and is prevented from slipping out by a spring plate 10, and it can be severed against a knife 8. A radial slot in the cover allows the contents to be inspected. When the case is made from mouldable material, a modified cutter 8, Fig. 4, are employed and the string is led out through a slot 18.
