Abstract

415,218. Ground anchors. SALT, J., and SALT, F., 29, Ladywood Road, Birming- ham. May 5, 1933, No. 13199. [Class 45.] A sheet - metal ground anchor is formed from an approximately T- shaped blank of which the limb 1 is pressed to channel section to form a spike 6 and the top portion 2 is bent around to form an annular head 7 as shown in Fig. 7. The top edge may be bent outwardly initially so as to form a rim 10 over which a cover 4 engages, and the vertical edges may be bent longitudinally so as to effect a good closure of the annulus. In the form shown in Fig. 10 the edges of the top member of the T are tongued and grooved as shown at 15 or 16 and the top edge is serrated and pressed inwardly when the annulus is closed. Hooks 8 for the attachment of the guy cable are pressed out of the T member. The edges of the spike portion may be sinuous.
