Abstract

414,345. Casting ribbed pipes. DIETERLEN, H., 3, Rue Pierre Ducreux, Paris. Oct. 27, 1932, No. 30196. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 28, 1932]. [Class 83 (i).] A ribbed pipe is formed by placing ribs 3 and a pipe 1 in a mould and casting metal 2 to connect them. The ribs may be of aluminium, the pipe of iron and the molten metal an aluminium alloy. The ribs may be longitudinal or transverse and the edges, to be engaged by the molten metal, may be perforated, notched, bent &c., and be fluxed. The ribs may be heated before casting or by using excess metal. The exposed part of the ribs may be corrugated to form irregular spaces 12, Figs. 8 and 9.
