Abstract
412,237. Valve amplifying circuits. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON, 33, Kungsgatan, Stockholm. Dec. 22, 1932, No. 36360. Convention date, Dec. 24, 1931. [Class 40 (v).] A discharge device G having a falling characteristic is arranged to operate a relay D in a direct current circuit on the application of signal currents to an alternating current circuit comprising inductance L and capacity C and having a damping so related to the negative resistance of the discharge device as to be self-oscillatory, during a portion of each cycle. The glow discharge device is preferably a neon lamp with a voltage from the battery B applied to it a little below the lamp igniting voltage. A parallel resonant circuit may be connected across the input tuned to the signalling frequency, or, a transformer with tuned primary and secondary may be used to provide a band-pass filter. Fig. 6 shows the relay M arranged in one diagonal of a Wheatstone bridge so that the receipt of a signal breaks down neon lamp G1 which in turn causes the break down of a second lamp G2, which energizes relay M to opposite polarity to its energization through resistances R1, R2.
