Abstract

412,012. Firearm cartridges. HASEK, J., 18, Vladislavova, Prague. April 7, 1933, No. 10468. Convention date, April 22, 1932. [Class 9 (i).] A cartridge case 6 of combustible or fusible material such as silk, non-nitrated artificial silk, cotton, nitrated yarns or cords, paper, nitrated paper, celluloid, and fusible alloys, is attached to a projectile 4 by means of an intermediate body 7 which acts as a lubricant when the cartridge is fired. A suitable material for the body 7 is finely divided graphite mixed with a small proportion of paraffin. The propellent charge 3 may consist of scales, plates, threads, strips, tubes, or annuli, and may be agglomerated together. The case 6 may comprise two or more layers, and its rear end carrying the primer 2 may be a separate thimble capable of being detached to permit an adjustment of the charge. The rear part of the projectile may be hollow to receive part of the charge.
