Abstract

411,319. Gilled tubes for heatexchangers. TANSLEY, G. E., Economiser Works, Calder Vale Road, Wakefield, Yorkshire. Aug. 4, 1933, No. 22028. [Class 64 (iii).] Gilled tubes for heat-exchange apparatus are constructed with the individual gills not completely surrounding the tube. The tube G is surrounded by a sleeve A of stream-line form, provided at its broader end with gills B and along its sides with gills C. The gills taper towards their ends, and also in thickness as shown in Fig. 1. In another form, two rows of gills may replace the gills C. In another form, Fig. 6, the gills F entirely surround the sleeve A except at one point. In all forms, the gills may be integral with the tube itself.
