Abstract
410,950. Handling vehicles in garages; lifts; platform hoists ; rope railways. ROME, J., and RUBINSTEIN, K., 23<bis>, Boulevard Brune, Paris. March 20, 1933, No. 8383. Convention date, March 21, 1932. [Classes 78 (iii), 78 (iv), and 104 (ii).] In a multifloor garage, in which the cars are moved by conveying plates on closedloop paths, lifts 11 are disposed at each end of each loop with approaches provided with receiving plates for the cars. The receiving and conveying plates are slotted in order that they may pass the shaped plungers 19, 20, Fig. 9, working in the lift wells which support the cars, while the plates are slid under or withdrawn from beneath the cars. The conveying plates 1 are double-slotted or H-shaped so that they may serve lifts at either end of the building. These plates are moved between the lift spaces 11 and the loop conveyers 23 on each floor by conveyers 26 on carriages 25 which are moved transversely at each end by conveyers 24 disposed at right-angles to the main loops. In order that the main plunger 19, 20, need be used only between the several floors, an auxiliary plunger 28, 28<1>, Fig. 24, may be disposed in each main plunger, to raise and lower the cars to enable the slotted plates 1 to be moved under and from beneath the cars. As shown in Fig. 28, the car 2 may be transferred from the conveying plate 1 to a receiving plate in the cage by means of a carrier 30 which moves up an inclined guide 32 in the cage to engage the axles of the car and raise the car while the plate 1 is withdrawn. Carriers 30 are stationed alternately in the lift well, and on the floors. All the parts may be automatically operated by means of electric switching systems. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a conveyer system of trucks Fig. 31 (Cancelled) in which the traversers 36 are provided with rails 39 which can be aligned with the rails of the main loops alternately ; also a means for engaging and disengaging the platforms with and from the conveyer chains ; and a handoperated hydraulic-pump system for raising and lowering the vehicles to allow transfer platforms to be inserted under and withdrawn from beneath the vehicles. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
