Abstract

410,789. Knickers and like garments. BEACROFT, H., 14, Mansfield Grove, Peel Street, Nottingham. Nov. 22, 1932, No. 32985. [Class 141.] In the manufacture of knickers and like garments, a yoke part 15 is provided, is shaped as indicated in Figs. 1 and 2, and is seamed to an aperture in the body of the garment which aperture is larger than the yoke so that the garment is constricted thereby. The yoke approximates, as shown, to a pentagon in shape, and the top edge is intended to be at or near the waist line of the garment. In addition to the yoke, the knickers may be made mainly of two pieces of fabric as indicated in Fig. 2 which are shaped at 17<b> so that when seamed to the edge 17<a> of the yoke the garment is constructed progressively. The dotted line 17<a>, 20<a> indicates the position of the edge of the yoke before seaming. The garment may be made from knitted fabric or fabrics having like elasticity to that described in Specification 410,821.
